Allison Cara Tolman was born in the US. Best known as Molly Solverson from the FX television series Fargo during its initial season. Tolman has won nominations for Emmys & Golden Globes. Tolman is the youngest of three siblings, with two older brothers. Family members moved from England into Sugar Land in Texas, when she was an infant. She was in Oklahoma for five years and later in West Texas before moving to Sugar Land. In the year she turned 10-years-old, Fort Bend Community Theatre began providing acting classes. Clements High School is where she attended and was able to graduate in 2000. Baylor University gave her a diploma in The Bachelor of Fine Arts, Theatre Performance. Following graduation, she resided in Dallas and became a founder of Second Thought Theatre. After moving to Chicago for a semester at The Second City Training Center and then returning to Illinois to continue her studies in 2009. Tolman made her debut in the year 2014. She starred on the FX crime comedy Fargo's first season. Fargo is a 1996 Coen Brothers movie, featured Billy Bob Thornton (as Molly Solverson), Martin Freeman (as Bob Odenkirk) and Bob Odenkirk. Tolman was praised for her performance as the character of Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair stated that Tolman has "calmly assuredly stolen the entire the show". The actress won the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress for a movie/ministry, she was nominated as Best Actress at both the Emmy Awards & Golden Globes for her role. Tolman was cast in a two episode guest role in the role of romance novelist Abby Berman on The Mindy Show the following year. In 2015, she played an supporting role on Michael Dougherty s comedy horror film Krampus. Following her breakout role on Fargo, Tolman declined several roles as moms, wives and best friends seeking some more unique roles. Tolman played the role of a woman in the ABC drama series Downward Dog in 2017, Based on the Animal Media Group's web series. It was cancelled following one season. Tolman starred on the ABC drama Emergence. The show premiered September 24, 2019 but ended the show after just one season which ended on May 21st, 2021. Despite the fact that Tolman tweeted that it had "pretty good" ratings. She has also appeared as a guest on NBC's Good Girls. In 2021, she appeared as Alma Filcott in the second season of the drama series Why Women Kill, and was Natalie Green in The Facts of Life part in the third episode of Live in Front of a Studio Audience.
